Office Remodeling Update

Look how far we’ve come since we first started the office remodel.  Here are some before and after pictures.

We still have some touch up work and, obviously, have to move in the furniture.  What an amazing improvement though, don’t you think?  Below is a before and after of the same area but, from the reverse angle.  You can see an item or two of furniture temporarily placed in the waiting area.  Our new shades for the office windows just arrived too.  We can’t wait to put them up.

A tricky part of creating an office for a web design company in Utah is to balance a a professional environment with a welcoming one.  How do you offer an environment that looks professional without being stuffy.  We went with a modern look using white laminate floors with vibrant accent walls (bright orange – not pictured) and added comfortable furniture in traditional darks.

Speaking of office floors, man, those were tricky.  The laminate floors in the office were, by far, the most time consuming part of remodeling this beautiful (but old) office.  In celebratory fashion, we excitedly placed the last laminate flooring piece for our office.

Office Remodel

Now that we have a new office on the way, we need to start getting supplies for the big office remodel.  Perhaps we should start buying stock in Ikea prior to each shopping visit.  Every time we go to Ikea for office furniture or supplies we end up barely being able to squeeze everything in the vehicle with how much is purchased.  It really is a mystery how we’re able to take up the exact amount of available space in the vehicle every time.

The new office remodel purchases include:

  • hardwood laminate flooring
  • flooring pad
  • office shelves
  • office desks
  • plants (livens up the place)
  • office chairs
  • décor (very schmancy with the dash above the “e”)
  • whole bunch of other stuff

New Utah Sites Web Design

Have you ever heard the story of the shoemaker’s son?  The story basically implies that when you have a specialty service you can offer that you often do it so much that you end up not finding time to help yourself or your own family with that service that you are so good at.  The shoemaker makes shoes all day but, his son goes without shoes.  What does this have to do with websites?  Well, we’re kind of like the shoemaker and we are also our own shoemaker’s son.  What we mean is that we sometimes get so excited and involved in client web design that we often neglect our own website.

Are you sitting down?  Because, UtahSites.com has a new website design!  Hooray.  May all of Utah rejoice.  Dang.  Guess it’s not that exciting.  It’s cool for us though!  And, whether you know it or not, it’s cool for you too.  Our new website includes a “responsive” (mobile friendly web design) feature.  You can view our website on anything from your super-duper computer to your itty bitty phone and our design will respond according to your screen size.

This makes navigating and reading the website easier than tying your shoes.  Unless, of course, you don’t know how to tie your shoes.  If you can’t tie your shoes, hopefully you at least understand what we’re implying about the website.  :)

New Office On The Way

Hey, hey!  Guess who is getting a new office?  Us!  After years of web design in Davis County, we’re proud to be staying in Davis County.  We’ve proudly leased space in this awesome area for years and decided to make an investment towards our continued growth and purchase our own office space.

Where will we be leaving Clearfield for?  Layton!  We will be right on Gentile St and Wasatch Drive, in the Layton Parkway Plaza.  Some of you might now our professional building as the “old white church” on Lancer Lane.

We love designing for Utah businesses and people and plan on being here for a while.  Look forward to some fun (and messy) pics of the upcoming remodel.
